Feds Cite Millennium Pipeline Operator for Failure to Inspect Welds, Monitor Corrosion

Federal regulators have cited the Millennium Pipeline, already subject to a federal consent agreement as a result of previous pipeline safety violations, with additional violations of federal pipeline safety regulations.

The troubled Millennium Pipeline, already under regulatory scrutiny as a result of faulty welds and shoddy construction practices, has been cited for additional pipeline safety violations by federal regulators, according to documents obtained by The Pipeline and Hazardous Material and Safety Administration (PHMSA) cited the the Columbia Gas Transmission Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary

NTSB San Bruno Natural Gas Pipeline Explosion Videos

A natural gas explosion of a pipeline owned and operated by the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. killed eight people and levelled an entire neighborhood in San Bruno, California, last year.

The National Transportation Safety Board, the agency charged with investigating natural gas pipeline explosions, released some videos explaining the circumstances surrounding the notorious San Bruno blast, which killed eight and destroyed an entire neighborhood in the San Francisco suburb in September 2010.
