A Devastating Argument Against FrackingDec 1st, 2011 | By fjgallagher | Category: Fracking, Lead Articles
Normally, NaturalGasWatch.org tries to stay away from simply “repositioning” material that appears out of other media outlets, concentrating instead on original, document-based reporting.
But every once in a while, something comes down the line that makes it worthwhile to set that rule aside — and this is one of those times. Of course, it helps that the author used in his lead material from a story that broke here on NaturalGasWatch.org, but even if that weren’t the case, this piece would still be worth it.
Here’s the author’s bio:
Anthony Ingraffea is the Dwight C. Baum Professor of Engineering and Faculty Fellow at the David R. Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future (ACSF) at Cornell University.
Ingraffea is also the president of Physicians, Scientists and Engineers for Healthy Energy.
The university professor is visiting New Brunswick in November and December to discuss hydro-fracking. The event is being hosted by the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.
And here’s his piece, in which he utterly dismantles the four talking points upon which the fracking industry has built its public contention that the process is perfectly safe.
Enjoy, and when you’re done with that, check this out — and just in time for Christmas, too. And perhaps take a moment to click on one of the advertisements you might see on this site so we can continue to bring forward the kind of content you’ve come to know and love here on NaturalGasWatch.org.
