Josh Fox Releases a New Short Film on Fracking: The Sky is PinkJun 23rd, 2012 | By fjgallagher | Category: Fracking, Lead Articles
The new film, in a sense, picks up where Gasland left off, expanding on the infamous “flaming faucet” scene and explaining in specific detail how and why natural gas wells contaminate our water supply.
Indeed, the new film even includes documents uncovered and obtained by NaturalGasWatch.org, which demonstrate unequivocally that at least 40 percent of natural gas well casings — the mechanism that is supposed to protect our water supply by sealing off and containing the toxic fluids and fugitive methane emissions that are the product of every fracked well — fail.
To the industry, this is a problem — not because water contamination results, you understand, but because it reduces the productivity of the well.
