The aftermath of the San Bruno explosion on Sept. 9, 2010, that left 8 people dead and destroyed 38 homes. A California Superior Court judge ruled that PG&E customers will bear nearly half the estimated $2.2 billion it will cost to upgrade the company's natural gas transmission lines to prevent a similar accident in the future.
